Re: Ver 1.3.7 won't open MP3 audio on Fedora 11 install
Have you got VLC installed? It might be in a "restricted" repository because it includes support for non-free file types.

Re: Problem recording in 24/96 with Native Instruments Audio
Can you recommend me a program that supports ASIO? Audacity can support ASIO, but you would need to build it from the source code and my guess is that you'd rather not do that (I tried that myself, and it's a right pain in the you know what). Have a look at "Wavosaur" and "Reaper&quo...

Re: noisy channel
There's two different noises there. One is 60Hz "mains hum" (US frequency, not European), and the other is the crackle. There's also a bit of DC offset. Is the hum present on both channels? The noise that's difficult to identify is, and I guess this is what you are complaining about, is th...

Re: Problem recording in 24/96 with Native Instruments Audio
It sounds like this may be due to a limitation of the Windows drivers for the NI. The NI Audio 4 probably uses ASIO drivers by default, but due to licensing restrictions Audacity does not ship with ASIO support, so it has to use native Windows drivers, which may be limited to 44.1kHz. This would giv...

Re: Audacity hangs on startup
If I remember correctly there was a Windows update, part of Service Pack 3 for XP I think, that breaks Audacity 1.2
If this is the issue that you are having, it may be easiest to upgrade Audacity to 1.3.8

Re: Recording audio from MSN and Skype chat videos
I checked this out when I was installing Skype for a computer illiterate friend on Windows. The problem is that to record both your microphone and the other person, you must set the recording input to "Stereo Mix". With the recording source set to Stereo Mix, Audacity would be able to reco...

Re: Distortion level indicators - absent...
Are we talking about a simple graphic error? It is looking like a bug. You are saying that no matter how high you drive the input, the clip indicators on the meter do not light, even when clipping is clearly evident from the recorded waveform (as shown by the red vertical lines)? That must be a bug...
