Re: WON'T LET ME EXPORT & SAVE AS .WAV IN WINDOWS MEDIA PLAY

Try downloading this file and see if it plays: http://audacity.easyspacepro.com/examples/piano.wav

This is Kozikowski's famous piano sample and is a totally standard 16/44.1 WAV file.

Re: New set-up

If you double click on the loudspeaker icon it will open the Windows Mixer, or the sound card control panel (depending on which your sound card uses). In there you will find a lot of options, including which sound card input you want to use and the recording level (the recording level is a different...

Re: WON'T LET ME EXPORT & SAVE AS .WAV IN WINDOWS MEDIA PLAY

Export the file as "WAV 16 bit Microsoft PCM, 44.1 kHz"
Virtually all programs, including WMP understand this format.

See this post for how to do that in Audacity 1.2.x http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 081#p47456

Re: audacity 1.3.8 // compilation error

I'm no expert on this, but in the absence of any other suggestions, check which versions of libtag you have installed. I'm on Ubuntu 9.04 and have the following: libtag1c2a version 1.5-3 libtag1-dev version 1.5-3 libtagc0 version 1.5-3 libtagc0-dev version 1.5-3 Also I compile with these options: ./...

Re: sudden increase in speed during playback

You may be running out of disk space and/or RAM.
If you close Audacity and then reopen it, all the temporary files and memory used by Audacity will be freed.

Check in the audio devices section of the Windows Control Panel. There may be an option to set the number of input channels.

Re: Windows Media Player cannot open wav file to burn to cd

Set the "Uncompressed Export Format" to "WAV Microsoft 16 bit PCM" (you will find that option in "Edit menu > Preferences > File Formats"). Before you Export, set the Project Rate to 44100 (lower left corner of the main Audacity Window). Then use "Export as WAV&quo...

1) Close Audacity 2) Use "safely remove hardware" to disconnect the USB microphone 3) Physically unplug the USB microphone and wait a few moments. 4) Plug the USB microphone back in and wait for Windows to recognise and connect it. 5) Open Audacity 6) In Audacity, go to "Edit menu > P...

Re: Multi-Channel Simultaneous Recording Release

There have been posts from people doing 16 channel recording with Audacity using an Alesis MultiMix 16 USB. If anyone would like to buy one for me I would be happy to check it out :)

Re: Number of bytes in a file

Audacity does not show the number of bytes as this can not be accurately determined - it will vary according to the export format that you use. You can see the number of samples by clicking on one of the boxes in the Selection Toolbar at the bottom of the Audacity window and select "samples&quo...
