Re: Accessibility and Section 508

In this thread, the government requirement of a VPAT certificate or 508 compliance is alluded to. Has any document been developed that a government agency can use in a request for use of Audacity? If so, could you point me in that direction? Thank you! What exactly are you asking? Which government ...

Re: Input Equipment to Record

I think that comment is about using the built in software guitar effects that are supplied with this product. You should be able to make clean recordings using Audacity, but any software effects that are included with the interface will probably not be available. Setting up the Tone Port is likely t...

Re: Setup files corrupted?

So if you really do have damaged preferences, you need to get rid of them before you do anything else. They will contaminate everything else you do. There is an easier way. 1) Close Audacity. 2) Open the "audacity.cfg" file in a text editor (Notepad will do), and delete everything except ...

Use "Mix and Render" on the individual tracks before you Export them. This will covert any leading space to silence so they will line up in the new project.

Re: Effect on 1.3.8 changes track length???

You mean that silence is added in the selected empty space? That's normal. Nyquist treats empty space as if it is silence. The only way to avoid this is to only select the audio that you want to process, and not select additional silence. That may mean that you need to select just one track at a tim...

Yes that's weird.

What sound card do you have?
What's your operating system?
Which version of Audacity?

Re: Audacity 1.38, issues after using generate silence.

This is what happens: That should not happen. I've occasionally noticed similar behaviour but have been unable to find a way to reliably reproduce the effect. If you can give a step-by-step method that will enable the developers to reproduce the problem then they should be able to fix it quite quic...

See here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... al_Removal

Note that it says that several conditions must be met for it to work. If the necessary conditions are not met this technique will not work.
