Re: Delete multiple labels

The quickest way to delete all labels, is to delete the label track - click the [ X ] in the top left corner of the track. To delete "all labels from cursor to the end": Click on the label track to set the cursor position (MUST be on the label track) "Shift + K" (select from curs...

When I try to open an MP3 file that was created by a cassette tape recorder which can output MP3s to a USB drive/stick
It appears that the device does not strictly stick to the MP3 format specification.
Do you have a small MP3 from that device that you could share with us?

Re: Scripted application update

As there's an MSI I noticed that you didn't mention the name of the app that you want to update, but as this is the Audacity forum I'm assuming that you are asking about Audacity. There isn't an official Audacity MSI. Official releases for Windows are either the ".EXE" installer (recommen...

Re: exporting to ape with Audacity

You could try:

Code: Select all

mac - "%f.ape" -c2000

Re: [Bug] 2.4.2 NOT detecting my sound devices !

Re: Cannot hear my guitar when recording

Click "Play", then "Pause", then while paused, open the system audio mixer.
The "Playback" tab should look something like this:

Re: Batch processing: export multichannel or keep file open after macro runs?

Unfortunately, Audacity's batch processing does not yet support exporting multi-channel files, only mono or stereo. You can apply a Macro to the current project regardless of the number of tracks, (which can be useful for chaining effects), but applying a Macro to a batch of files can only give mono...

Re: exporting MP3

In a Limiter, you set a "threshold" level, which is the maximum peak level that you want. The Limiter squashes down any peaks that are beyond the "threshold" level, thus ensuring that the waveform does not exceed that level. The usual purpose of a limiter is to allow the audio to...

Re: delayed recording

It would be "possible" to use "Timer Record" (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/timer_record.html) but I'd suggest that you just start the recording and trim off the dead space after you have finished recording.
