Re: Using Software Playthrough interferes with recording

If your turntable is hooked up to your computer sound card via the RCA leads, then software playthrough should be off. Most Linux distros should be able to record from USB audio devices, (using ALSA USB audio codec), but if you have a reasonable sound card then using the RCA connectors to your sound...

Re: "Can't load module X" after 1.3.8 install

You have some VST effects installed on your computer that are incompatible with Audacity 1.3.8
Try upgrading to Audacity 1.3.9 available from here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... tly_Builds

Re: converting tapes - sound disappearing

An upgrade to Audacity 1.3.8 would probably be a good idea when the defrag is complete. All of the regular forum contributors use Audacity 1.3 as the old 1.2 version is now virtually obsolete.

Re: Audigy Platinum Sound card with phantom powered micropho

Can we go back to your original post - there are several versions of the Soundblaster Audigy Platinum sound card - exactly which one do you have? The Audio Technica AT3035 Mic requires a nominal 48v phantom power (11v to 52v) which you say you have - where does the phantom power come from? The "...

Is that a USB turntable?
Why exactly do you need to use software playthrough?

Re: Constant high-pitched humming, buzzing, whining

Dogs respond to the long alpha waves ahead of an earthquake long before anybody else can "hear" them. I'm not a dog owner and 'quakes are rare here so I'll take your word for it :D Most people don't have a short circuit laying around, but everybody has an iPod I guess I'm not "most p...

Re: Molding a tone to a given audio sample (matching silence

Was just looking at this thread and noticed the rather complex code for a half-wave rectifier. There is already such a function built into Nyquist: (s-max sound1 sound2). This takes two sounds (mono or multi-channel), or a sound and a FLONUM (or two FLONUM's for that matter) and for corresponding s...

What web browser are you using?

Have you tried downloading from the "direct link" on the download page?

Re: Can't Load Module error in Windows 7

I've just got back from holiday s I'm not yet up to speed with the latest changes with Audacity, but before I went there were several reports of compatibility problems with Audacity 1.3.8 and Fruity. The problem is with the VST plug-ins that FL uses. Audacity 1.3.8 is the first Audacity version that...
