Re: USB connection has problems

It seems that quite a few people give up on it, but it's worth persevering with. The problem is essentially due to the fact that...

Re: academic reporting of Audacity

Yes it is, but you may be able to repeat the sample to make it longer. To repeat a selection, select "Repeat" from the Effects menu. If you want to boggle yourself with the science, there is some information about Plot Spectrum in Audacity 1.3.8 (which is slightly different from previous v...

Re: Podcast Problems

Podcasts are often done in mono as better quality sound can be achieved for a given bit rate than for stereo. All the recording and editing should be done in WAV format. 44.1kHz 16 bit will probably be sufficiently high quality. You would Export an MP3 version of your show as the final step in the p...

Re: major headache trying to get this to work

<<< refister >>> ? <<< resister >>> ? What's so difficult about the word "register"? :D By the way there are better compressed formats out there that are newer and more efficient than MP3. Not forgetting "Ogg Vorbis" which unlike MP3, WMA or AAC is totally free and open source. h...

Re: Can I create keyboard shortcut for Truncate Silence effe

Effects can not currently be selected with short-cut keys (other than Ctrl+R for "Repeat last effect").
Only the functions listed in the keyboard section of Preferences can have short-cuts.

Re: FFmpeg plugin fails

The version of libavformat that I am using (on Ubuntu 9.04) is 53.36.0
It doesn't seem to be completely stable, but it works most of the time.

I use Nero at work (for simple video editing), and I like it - easy and quick to use. However I'm not at work at the moment. Do you know if Nero can be configured to capture video from one source (camera) and audio from another (sound card)?
