Re: Export as WAV as a menu item
You can set up a keyboard shortcut for "Export". The file type will be set to whatever you used last.

Re: Lag from keyboard(music) to monitor/playback
I think this wouldn't be an issue if Audacity would support for ASIO (AFAIK, it does not). BTW, why not? ... it's shouldn't be hard to implement. ASIO can be implemented in Audacity, but unfortunately ASIO is owned by Steinberg and can not be legally distributed with Audacity. If you want ASIO in A...

Re: In My Opinion...
I think it was Audacity 1.3.6 that had a highly tree'd menu and it was the biggest pain in the neck. Noise Reduction is a very try and change settings and try again type of tool and it was three layers down in the tree. Everybody universally hated it. Not quite everybody. My screen is 1366 x 768 (w...

Re: Can't see opened aup file
My understanding is OGG can give you compression and smaller files without damaging the sound. Ogg is a lossy compression format - it produces damage (but not much). File sizes are about 80% smaller than WAV files. FLAC is lossless - it produces no damage. File sizes are about 50% smaller than WAV ...

Re: MP3 Export
If you are continuing the same project, Audacity assumes that the metadata is the same.
You can change the metadata at any time by calling up the metadata editor from the file menu.

Re: Export as WAV as a menu item
In Audacity 1.2.x, there were "Export as WAV" and "Export as MP3" entries under the File menu. In Audacity 1.3 1) File > Export... > 2) Add information tag information in the metadata editor if you want to, then Click OK. 3) Select the file format that you want 4) Navigate to th...

But your 2 microphones would need amplifying before they go into the UCA-202 (the UCA is Line level, not mic level)dgoldsmith wrote:so I could at least hook up a dual mic set up through a UCA-202

Re: Pitch is Raised Slightly When Recording
Support for modern hardware is getting a bit patchy in Audacity 1.2 as it is now rather old. Try updating to Audacity 1.3.8 and see if that solves the problem.

Re: Get error message when I use save as...
The problem for me is saving in the same folder, not a new folder. For issues with Audacity 1.2, please post in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum. There are major differences between Audacity 1.2 and 1.3, so even if the symptoms of a problem look similar, the cause and solution may be very diffe...
