Re: Question about Normalization (how does it work in Audaci
Because that's the way the producer wanted it. Then it begs the same question of the producer, which for people on this forum is likely to be the same person as the engineer (and probably also the director, performer ...) I think we were talking about normalising/amplifying the complete show, in wh...

Re: Even out volume of voices
The quickest way is to use Chris's Dynamic Compressor plug-in http://pdf23ds.net/software/dynamic-compressor/ This is a Nyquist plug-in. For information about installing Nyquist plug-ins, see here: http://audacityteam.org/download/plugins This will usually produce quite good results, but for best re...

He's wanting to do it on Linux, and would prefer to use native Linux programs rather than running iTune in Wine, but that's essentially what I was thinking, though generating the playlist in Banshee.waxcylinder wrote:So can you not use iTunes playlists to link all the required tracks together in the right order

Whom do you trust, the anti-alias filters inside the capture device, or the software downconvert in post. With a high quality device like the Sony, I would expect that the ant-alias filters would be very good in either hardware or software. Even on cheap recording devices the anti-alias filters are...

Re: Audio Getting Cut Off
Open Audacity and generate a 2 second tone.
Click "Play".
Does it play for 2 seconds?
Export the tone as a WAV file.
Close Audacity and then open Audacity.
Import the WAV file.
Is it still 2 seconds long?

Re: no "invert" in my effect menu
@ Stevethefiddle I know that it has to be there. but it is'nt. it just is'nt there... Exactly which version of Audacity do you have (look in "Help > About Audacity") With all 1.2.x versions you can reset Audacity to the "out-of-the-box" condition by following the "safe solu...

Re: Why can't I record in stereo with my USB turntable ?
Most USB turntables have both a USB output and a pair of analogue outputs (RCA connectors). The USB connector should obviously go to the computer, and the RCA connectors can optionally be connected to an audio amplifier for listening to the record while it is playing. Have you, or are you able to co...

Re: recording with sony pcm d50, then direct to cd
Just on my way out at the moment, but if you would like to suggest how the wording could be improved so that it is more clear, I'll get it checked out for accuracy and update the entry in the manual. Alternatively, you could sign up to help with the manual by contacting Gale (see this page http://ma...
