Re: Cracky Cymbals
I am having trouble with Clip Fix. It goes halfway then freezes and does nothing. 5 minutes pass by and its still halfway it does not progress at all. Clipfix is VERY memory hungry and you can easily run out of available ram. At this point, your computer starts swapping memory to disk and clipfix w...

Re: finer time control
For Generate Silence in Audacity 1.3.x Click on that little black arrow just to the right of the duration numbers. You can then select the time format that you want. For finest control, use one of the formats that includes "Samples". If you don't need it quite that find, there's a couple o...

Re: Jack not recognized in Audacity
I was under the impression that the real-time option was only intended to be used with the real-time kernel (I could be wrong though).
Have you tried it without the real-time option?
Which version of Audacity are you using?

Re: Jack not recognized in Audacity
I'm using Audacity 1.3.9 on Ubuntu 9.04 (generic kernel) I use Jack Control to start Jack. I've updated Portaudio to libportaudio 19+svn20071207-C Apart from that it's pretty much a stock install, and Audacity works with Jack. Previously I was using the repository version of Audacity 1.3.7 and Porta...

Re: Randomly stops recording
The first thing to check is leads and connections.
It is usually better to have all the equipment connected to the same power socket.
Sometimes moving the sound card to a different PCI socket can help.

Re: Recording with 2 mics (newbie question)
That's a good point JSO, but it only works with some sound cards, and it is not suitable for two microphones as you cannot use most microphones directly with the Line-in socket (the signal level of a microphone is far too low). The other problem is that most consumer grade sound cards have terrible ...

Re: 1.3.9 Click track error. "Nyquist returned the value: 10
I've submitted an update to ClickTrack that validates the optional input and produces meaningful error messages if invalid data is entered. Hopefully this will help to prevent this problem arising in the future.

Re: 1.3.9 Click track error. "Nyquist returned the value: 10
If you use the optional "click track duration", just enter 2 number with a space between for the minutes and seconds. Do not us a comma to separate the values and don't use decimals, just one whole number for seconds, or two whole numbers with a space between them for minutes and seconds. ...
