Re: 1.3.9 Nightmare - no thanks to myself!

What is this "Remove Tone" Filter? I don't see it in my Audacity 1.3.9 installation and I don't remember seeing it in any earlier versions of Audacity. I understand why you like Audacity 1.3.4, it is still one of my favourite releases as it is rock-solid-stable on my old XP machine (though...

Re: Zaireeka: Four, Separate Channels

Audacity will not PLAY more than 2 channels, but it CAN Export multi-channel audio. If you have suitable hardware, and a media player that supports surround sound, then you would be able to put the audio tracks from the 4 CDs together and Export as a multi-channel audio file. Personally I do not hav...

Re: Veritable bug in 1.3.9

A bug has recently been identified in Audacity 1.3.10 alpha where Audacity crashes when running some Nyquist plug-ins. You may be describing the same bug. If so, then a bug fix has just been submitted, so the problem may already be fixed. When the next beta version of Audacity is released it may be ...

Re: Getting at the Help manuals

Looks like the main problem is the Linux eye skimming to the bold text. I think so too, and IMHO the new text looks a lot more clear. But it would be nice to find out why the local manual doesn't work as it should and get it fixed! A recent message that I read on the audacity developers mailing lis...

Re: Nyquist Pluggin Not Showing In Menu List

I just yesterday realized that the copy of Audacity I use all the time is installed in a sub-directory of a previous Audacity installation. :D I shouldn't laugh, I've done that myself at it's really confusing 'till you realise what you've done. I'd guess that mszlazak is OK now as the message was p...

Re: I can't Record

What version of Audacity?
What operating system?
What recording/playback device options do you have in Audacity Preferences (Preferences can be found in the Effects menu).

Re: Scrubbing and/or Slow Play

Early betas can be a very "interesting" ride .... "Alpha" testing is pretty exciting too :D Alpha versions are most definitely NOT for production use, but carefully selected beta versions replaced 1.2.6 alpha as my main audio editor quite some time ago. Currently I use 1.3.9 bet...

Re: Newbie, need a little bit of help

Ok so would i have to use this product and connect both outs to both ins? or just one? To record what is playing on your computer (equivalent to recording "Stereo Mix") you would connect both "outs" to both "ins". To hear what is being recorded you would plug headphone...

Re: crashes on two systems

1.2.6 (the last "stable" version) is known to have issues on Vista and Windows 7. 1.3.9 beta (the current beta release) is perhaps the most stable version currently available for Windows 7 and Vista. 1.3.10 alpha (not on general release) has several known issues and is probably less stable...

Re: Constant high-pitched humming, buzzing, whining

That's interesting kaynemcgladrey, and contrary to the views usually expressed by Mac owners.
Could you upload some samples somewhere on the internet and post links? Having no direct experience of audio on Macs I'd be interested in hearing the test results.
