Re: Veritable bug in 1.3.9
In the release for 3.8, it mentions that Nyquist was updated to better use memory. In some ways, yes this is true. I've just tried running a Nyquist high-pass filter on a 45 minute 32 bit mono track in both Audacity 1.3.7 and 1.3.9 In 1.3.7 the peak memory usage was a shade over 500MB, whereas in 1...

Re: Veritable bug in 1.3.9
I've done a couple of tests with this. Applying a notch filter to a 1 hour stereo track. My computer has 3GB of RAM. When attempting to process the hour long (32 bit) track, memory usage soared to 2.5GB, at which point the computer started manic disk activity (swapping RAM to disk). The computer gro...

Re: merging
Track > Stereo To Mono Edit > Duplicate Track Tools (on the left) > Make Stereo Track. That works, except that it is still mono really - just that it is now 2 channel mono, so there is twice as much data and the Exported MP3 will be lower quality. If any of the tracks (for example a music clip) is ...

Re: merging
Yes. With Audacity 1.3.8 or later; Click on the track name and select "Split Stereo to Mono". This will give you 2 mono tracks (perfect for Podcasts) Use the track volume sliders to adjust the relative levels so that both voices sound about the same. Export as MP3 for your Podcast (also Ex...

Re: issues with recovery
Before you do anything else, If your project has been saved at any point, make a copy of the whole of the project data folder. Also, make a copy of everything that is in the Audacity Temporary folder. Avoid deleting anything or recovery will be impossible. Audacity 1.3 will usually recover these fil...

Re: Sound activated recording
When I select this option in the "Recording" item in Preferences it sometimes cuts off the initial sounds of my voice recording. Just give a little cough to clear your throat before you start speaking. (or click your fingers, or tap the table, ..anything to trigger the recording). If nece...

Re: Problem resampling MP3 file
I'm confused. There isn't an "Export to MP3" button in Audacity 1.3.x
Exactly which version of Audacity do you have?
Please try to be as accurate and detailed as possible in your description of the problem and describe it step by step. Too much information is better than too little.

Re: Latency function
Possibly not.
If you want to experiment and test it for yourself, just write down what settings you start with so that you can revert if you mess it up.

Re: Working or syncing to picture using Audacity
No, Audacity is not able to do that, though it exists as a "Feature Request" for future versions. Would you like your vote adding to the list?
