Re: posts

It depends on how they have set up the computers. Do they have several computers? If so, have you tried on different ones and do you get logged out after posting on all of them? If so, then they have probably set them up to not accept cookies. This is not uncommon on public computers as cookies can ...

Whether it's a square wave or a sign wave, trying to push a 19kHz frequency through a standard sound card is going to be rather iffy.

Re: Dynamic Rumble Filter

Oh brilliant - I'd forgotten about this. Thanks for the audio sample - this should be a really good one for testing as it has some nice deep bass with those double basses at the beginning. As it is, it works as a "proof of concept" but it sounds terrible. It is really obvious where the eff...

Re: How to add a carrier frequency

Just thought, in terms of getting the signal out of the sound card, it may work better if the carrier is a sine wave rather than a square wave.

Code: Select all

(mult (sum (clip (mult (sum s -0.2) 1000) 0.4) 0.4)(hzosc 19000))
Probably best to try both a square and sine wave carrier and see which works better.

Re: How to add a carrier frequency

this is what I was trying [http://jumpjack.wordpress.com/2008/05/22/remote-control-3-editing-waveform/], Just as a point of interest, if you want to "square up" the original signal, you can do it with Nyquist quite easily by amplifying it and clipping off the wiggly top and bottom. Here's...

Re: Please add "Welcome to Audacity!" screen to Help menu

The "Audacity" tab in "About Audacity" already contains a link to the Forum. Probably not an obvious place to look for it... "I need help, I'll go to the forum, now where is that link? In the "Help" menu? No. In "Help > Quick Help"? No. In "Help > M...

Re: Recording Guitar questions

The M-AUDIO Audiophile 2496 is a really nice card, but a lot of people have reported difficulty M-Audio cards it with Audacity. This is probably because M-Audio expect you to use it with ASIO drivers which are not supported (directly) by Audacity. A while ago I installed 3 PCs with M-Audio Audiophil...

Re: how to save a wav file with special parameters in cmd li

No, Audacity does virtually nothing from the command line apart from open.
Perhaps SOX will do what you want. http://sox.sourceforge.net/

Re: Please add "Welcome to Audacity!" screen to Help menu

I like the idea of putting "How to get Help" as a page in the "About Audacity..." window.
It could perhaps also have a link to the Audacity FAQ
