Re: Instructions Needed To Record Voice Message
The Windows Mixer is one of the key parts to getting a recording (same with all recording programs). The tricky but for us is that some sound cards use a custom mixer instead of the standard Windows Mixer, so we don't know exactly what controls you have on your machine, but the crucial bit is to fin...

Re: Need hlep with Plug-ins??
If you've got th 90 plug-in pack from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/plugins
and have downloaded the Windows version, it is an .exe file and you need to run it (double click on it) to install the plug-ins.

Re: Intel's Moblin 2.1 and Google's Android
Audacity is currently being tested on Windows 7
From the picture on this page it looks like moblin are testing Audacity http://moblin.org/
(big image http://moblin.org/sites/all/files/u4/ga ... _media.png )
No idea about Android - I thought it was mainly for 'phones and such like.

After deleting audacity.cfg, did you get the "select your language" screen when you restarted Audacity?drjoewebb wrote:I did try deleting the configuration file and still had the problem.

Re: Taking out effects from the Effects menu.
Well that confused me - this is the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum.Michel wrote:-Audacity v. 1.3.9 / Windows Vista Ultimate
You can disable all VST effects from the "Effects" tab in Audacities Preferences.

Re: Taking out effects from the Effects menu.
Can you give some details.
Exactly which version of Audacity?
What is the installation location?
Do you have more than one copy of Audacity installed?
Which effects do you want to remove?
Any other details that may be relevant?

Re: soundfile fast-fowards when played in Audacity
Audacity can't read WMA files. That's not quite 100% accurate any more. Now that Audacity has FFMpeg support, it can import and Export any file types that are supported by FFMpeg. This means that Audacity can (theoretically) support many more file types. However, in practice, this depends on the ab...

It would be nice to know the reason, but that sounds like a usable workaround.

Re: Removing clapping from an audio recording
I wrote a snippet of code for removing certain types of clicks that may help. This is not currently a full plug-in, but you can run it by copy/pasting the code into the Nyquist Prompt (in the Effects menu). It probably requires Audacity 1.3.8 or later (not tested on earlier versions). If you would l...

Re: Taking out effects from the Effects menu.
Effects that are above the line in the list can not be deleted as they are built into the program.
Effects that are listed below the line may be removed by deleting (or moving) the corresponding file from the Plug-ins folder which is in the Audacity program folder.
