Re: Instructions Needed To Record Voice Message

Try the "Playback Control" and see if it has a "Recording Input" slider on the right hand side.

Do you know how to make a "screen shot"?

Re: remove music from music+voice by fft ?

No, they don't work exactly as you describe, but they use some similar principles. You may see what I mean when you've gone through their documentation and used them, or you may totally disagree with me that there's any similarity, but they are the closest that I've come across. FFT filtering alone ...

Re: Problem with Nyquist vocoder

I may be jumping to assumptions here, but it sounds very much like a problem that someone else had recently. The problem there was not with the Nyquist plug-in but with the data that was being passed to Nyquist. In that case it was due to the user entering data in a text field and using a comma inst...

Re: Blue Cat's Gain Suite plugins don't show up

I think that some effects are automatically disabled if they are known to be incompatible with Audacity.
One of the "Stereo Butterfly" effects on this page may do what you want http://audacityteam.org/download/nyquistplugins

Re: Problem with Nyquist vocoder

Some versions of Audacity will not accept a comma (,) as a decimal separator. Use a full stop (.) or use whole numbers.
I think this issue is fixed in the latest code, though I'm aware that it exists in some very recent versions.

Re: "Microphone" is Only Choice as Input Source?

Is this Vista?
Is this a laptop?

Without that information I can only suggest that you look in the Windows Control Panel in the Audio Devices section and see if you can enable a Stereo Mix option.

Re: Instructions Needed To Record Voice Message

The one bit of information you have not given is if you are using Windows XP or Vista (or other). I've used SoundBlaster cards a lot on XP, so hopefully it is similar on your computer. SoundBlaster cards usually have a custom Mixer. It is called "Creative Mixer" The "mixer" that ...

Re: Can't save files -- can't see folders

A quick Google shows quite a lot of problems with the Hardy build, but I've not seen this exact problem. It may however be worth trying Audacity 1.3.5 which is available as a Hardy backport; http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy-backports/audacity
