Re: Cutting an mp3

A toool that gets recommended a lot is MP3cut. Do you mean MP3Split? http://mp3splt.sourceforge.net/mp3splt_page/home.php I'm trying to cut out the parts I don't want, I select the area, however the cut option in the edit menu remains greyed out (as does most options in the edit menu). As said befo...

Re: Live Pass Through, but with Effects being applied

Only on Linux (using Jack) as far as I'm aware. Audacity does not currently do real time processing.
For "Invert" you can wire your loudspeakers the other way round (red to black / black to red).

Re: Forum Names: Add BETA to headings

The 1.2.x and 1.3.x designations should be clear enough, but if adding (BETA) would cut down the number of posts in the wrong forum, then I would be in favour. However it will need to change as soon as Audacity 2.0 (stable) comes out. Will Audacity 1.2.x still be supported on the forum? What about o...

I use the (free and open source) program MP3Split - it does what it says on the tin.

Re: Unable to access source code using cvs

It may have just been a glitch with the server, so it's worth trying again. Sorry I can't offer any help with TortoiseCVS (I use the native Linux CVS utility). CVS is used to manage the source code. Checking out (downloading) can be done by anyone using a CVS client, but uploading is (not surprising...

Re: the next version of audacity

The very latest (hot off the press) alpha version is also available. Currently this is at 1.3.10 alpha. It contains a couple of bug fixes on top of 1.3.9 and I've not spotted any new bugs (which is the risk in trying an alpha version) http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... tly_Builds

Re: Nothing happens on open SUSE 10.3

Yes I play fiddle. Good luck with your Linux studio - when you become more familiar with Linux you may want to "upgrade" to one of the special "studio" versions which are optimised for audio, though generally they can be a bit tough to set up if you're completely new to Linux. In...

Re: Instructions Needed To Record Voice Message

Brilliant, you can now record! I've also got a good guess about why it works now and why it did not before. Am I correct in thinking that the microphone that did not work plugged into a USB socket (flat rectangular plug/socket) and the new microphone that does work has a small round plug that goes i...
