Seems OK on Linux.
Can we have a bit more detail about the problem.
@ playerx
Exactly what kind of WAV files are they? (16 bit, 24 bit, 44.1kHz, 48kHz....) Are these WAV files that have been exported from Audacity, or from elsewhere?

Re: Pitch is Raised Slightly When Recording
I can't believe that this problem isn't noticed by others Probably because other people are not experiencing the problem. Laptop manufacturers do not use the same quality of components for the sound system as are used in professional sound cards (which can cost more than a complete laptop). It is n...

Re: Steinberg MI4
Number 11 on that list mentions increasing the "system swap" value - any idea how to do this on a Mac? No idea. I'll try moving this to the Mac part of the forum and see if anyone there can help. Oh... not yet I won't ... you need to say which version of Audacity you're using so I can mov...

I think we need some clarification from Roberta.

Re: Chris's Compressor - Three Queries
Chris's Dynamic Compressor 1.2.2 is now available: http://pdf23ds.net/software/dynamic-compressor/ This version includes fixes for both issues raised in this topic. To get the Audacity plug-in version, right click on the link "Download the plugin source," and save to your computer then mov...

Re: Audacity corrupted Palm Pilot data
You were running Audacity on a PDA?
You had 12 years worth of work on your PDA and no backup?
If the "Palm people have restored what they can" then it's unlikely that any more data is recoverable.

Re: Line in acting like a mic?
You probably want the recording input set to (hw:0,0) and if not that, then (hw:0,1). After that it's setting up your system mixer application. Unfortunately I've never used KDE so I can't help there, but there is probably a loudspeaker icon on one of your panels that will give you access to your sy...

Re: Apply volumne envelope from one track to another
I want to use the volume envelope from one track to another (I think). What I actually need to do is be able to hear one track when someone is speaking but not hear it if they are silent. Could you clarify this. What have you got on which tracks and what do you want to do to which track(s)? :Edit: ...

Re: Steinberg MI4
You're getting "drop-outs". Zoom in close on the waveform where it is crackling and you will see lots of little gaps in the waveform. This happens because data is being dropped and is one of the most common problems with USB audio devices. There can be many causes of this problem, but basi...
