It was going to be Audacity 1.4 back in 2007.
Audacity 1.3.10 is very much more stable than a lot of "stable" audio software. At work it is more stable than our ProTools set-up !

Re: input source
Boys, take that windoze talk somewhere else, Just correcting an erroneous myth. I'm prone to saying that these packages make a Mac sound system as unstable as Windows is all the time. Oops there's another one - there is nothing inherently unstable about the Windows sound system. Windows is used in ...

Re: Un-synthesizing Audio
Do either of you speak Japanese? Speaking for myself, I speak very minimal Japanese and am currently taking classes to learn the language. Why do you ask? Aside that the song I'm hoping to (any degree) un-synthesize is Japanese, I'm not sure why this question is relevant to the topic. I Googled for...

Re: How to remove the booming noise from a tape recording?
it is pretty clear, although the voice now sounds like the recording was inside a tin box! Any ideas what I could do to improve this further. The best that you will get is by finding a happy compromise between tinny and boomy. Note also that it may sound significantly different on different headpho...

Re: No Audio on PC After Using Audacity HELP
I didn't have any USB attachments at the time this happened except a USB mouse OK, so it is a completely different problem to the USB issue that was being discussed in this thread. So basically you were fiddling with some sound settings and then all of your sound went off and you cannot get it back...

Re: Audacity or Reaper
By editing audio do you mean altering the sound once it's been recorded, applying effects etc? There was a discussion about this on the forum some time ago. Basically there are 2 types of "editing" - destructive and non-destructive. Traditionally, Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) have use...

Re: How do I change the bitrates of many .mp3's at once?
If you don't mind doing it in 2 passes (MP3 > WAV > MP3) then LamedropXPd is ridiculously easy to use. Right click on the program (which looks like a postage stamp) to set your preferences, then just drag a load of files onto it. MP3's are decoded to WAV and WAVs are encoded to MP3. It really can no...

Re: Recording Problem
So when I try to record over another track it has the beat from the other track in the recording. Open the Windows Mixer (loudspeaker icon near the clock in lower right corner of the desktop) and set the recording input to Microphone instead of Stereo Mix. The drop down box is grayed out. Upgrade t...

Re: Click Track Issue
Here's a custom version that should support fractional bpm. If you find it useful (and it works OK), post a message on the "Feature Requests" board and it may get included in future Audacity releases. Extract the contents of the attached zip file into the Audacity plug-ins folder. When Aud...
