You may be trying to reduce the noise level too much. Try using a lower setting for how much noise to remove.
General opinion is that Noise Reduction is much better in Audacity 1.3 than Audacity 1.2

Re: Making 1 cd length track from 2 sides cassette
I want to join side 2 after side 1. Can this be done by starting the cassette, starting Audacity Record, playing to the end of the tape, pausing Record in Audacity, turning the tape around, playing the tape and leaving pause for Record? Yes. Also, in the current beta version you can use Shift+R to ...

Re: Unknown Publisher!
Without knowing exactly what you have done it is difficult to give specific advise. You may have just muted the output. Have a look in the Windows Control Panel and see if can see what has become disabled and re-enable it. See the notes on XP here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Mixer_...

Re: Cannot Open Audacity Files in Beta
That's the bit to sort out first. If SoundRecorder does not work then it indicates that there is a problem with your sound card set-up, and until you get that sorted out you are most unlikely to be able to get any version of Audacity working.Fabbelle wrote:No I can't record at all on the Sound Recorder

Re: telephone recording
I'm not suggesting anyone here would be likely to buy it at the price. It's still tricky to set up, despite the hype on the site. That's the "affordable" version, and still a lot more than one of these http://www.pcwb.co.uk/catalogue/item/BTTEL31?cidp=Froogle with a microphone near it. I ...

Re: Reverse RIAA curve
This is exactly why I think it would be great to have an easy way for users to import Eq curves. Curves such as these could be submitted on the forum, and the popular ones transferred to a "library" page somewhere for all to use. While it is not particularly difficult to edit the EQCurves....

Re: setting up Audacity 1.3
I have clicked Edit-Preferences... and there is no Audio I/O tab, The Preferences layout got updated recently as it was becoming rather messy. The documentation has not caught up yet. The stuff that was previously on the Audio I/O tab is now on the "Devices" Tab. Audacity will usually set...
