Re: How Many Audacitys?
I expect that Audacity 2.0 projects will open in 1.3 (but not in 1.2). You can install multiple instances of Audacity 1.3, which can be useful for testing purposes providing that they are in different folders. However, by default they will use the same preferences file and temporary folder. The shar...

Re: Can't hear effects while recording or playback
I think that you will find that the Cubase LE version will work for recording, I believe that it just has less features than the full version.

Re: MP3 export problem
The current version of Lame with the current version of Audacity should work, but I remember a while ago there appeared to be a few isolated cases that needed a slightly different version - if you want to try it, it's available here: http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/lame_enc_no_manifest.zip

Re: Can't hear effects while recording or playback
Can I hear the "wet," processed signal while I record the track? On Windows - probably not. Audacity does not do real time processing. You may need to use a different program for doing your recording (Cubase LE? ProTools ? What software was bundled with your sound card?) You can still use...

Re: no sound on pc vista
Crosley USB turtable How on Earth did I miss that ! when a USB audio device is connected to a Windows PC, Windows automatically passes the entire sound system (record and playback) to the USB device. This is obviously a problem if the USB device happens to be a turntable or microphone as these are ...

The track must be selected.bayoureaper wrote:Thanks, but when I go under tracks the stereo to mono is grayed out and I can't click on it.
Click on the information box on the left side of the track, this will highlight the track. Then go to the Tracks menu and select "Stereo Track to Mono"

Re: CHANGING VIEW WHEN GENERATING SILENCE
the label track didn't move exactly with the amount I pasted in. (Close, but not exactly.) I thought that labels were attached to the audio, and I thought that meant that if I pasted in a 1.1-second piece of audio, then the label would move out by exactly 1.1 seconds. That didn't seem to happen. La...
