Re: Windows 7 and Audacity query
All installed well...but I still couldn't get Audacity to "remember" my settings...be it in version 1.2.6, or the 1.3.9 beta. Forget about running Audacity 1.2.6 Does Audacity 1.3.9 run in Vista SP2 compatibility mode? Have you tried the Audacity 1.3.10 (nightly) version? If not, give it ...

Re: Tascam US-122L -- how to configure S24_3LE sample format
Try using Audacity 1.3.10 from cvs. This may help as there have been several improvement since 1.3.7 (sorry - no guarantees)

Re: Cannot connect with sound card
Audacity does not support ASIO (due to licensing restrictions). You either need to install "Windows drivers" (WDM or MME) or do the recording in a program that supports ASIO. It is unfortunately very common for sound cards that are designed to use ASIO to have sub-standard Windows drivers,...

Re: 1.3.7-3 and USB cable problem (Debian 5, kernel 2.6.30)
This explanation seems inadequate. I see what you mean, but it is very often the case. Perhaps not so often a cable problem, but certainly we've seen a lot of problems caused by unstable USB chips on external devices, and lots of problems from insufficient USB bandwidth. The main problem with USB a...

Go into the Windows Control Panel and make sure that "Stereo Mix" is available as a recording option.

Re: Cut from One Track and Paste New Track
I want to cut a part of one track. Then create a "blank" track and paste this into it and save as a file. Why do you want to do that? What are you trying to achieve? If you just want to create a WAV file from part of a longer track, just select the bit of the track that you want (click an...

Re: Audacity changed following system restore
Switch off "Software Playthrough" in Audacity Preferences.
Sorry can't remember where it is in Audacity 1.2 - it may be in "Audio I/O".

Re: problems since new computer with windows vista
Upgrade to the latest beta version (currently 1.3.9) The problem is likely to be with your sound card set-up. I'm guessing that you are using an on-board sound card - it probably has "echo cancellation" / "noise reduction" / "Automatic Gain Control" or similar. Look in ...

Re: down load - 1 computer or network server?
Audacity should be run on the local computer and not across a network. Until Audacity 2.0 is released the latest (beta) version is highly recommended (the 1.2.6 version is now very old and often gives problems on newer hardware). Your IT guy can download the ZIP version and simply copy the extracted...
