Re: 1.3.9 can't select some regions of MP3

Audacity does not process MP3s. Audacity "Imports" files and un-compresses the audio data and then works with this uncompressed copy of the file. Lame is not used in this process - Lame is only used for Exporting MP3s (Importing is supported natively within Audacity). So you have a track i...

Re: Nyquist Plugin

Which version of Audacity are you using? We recommend using the latest 1.3 version on Vista.
Do other Nyquist effects work?
Are you trying to use it on a mono track?

Re: MP3 Speech sounds bubbly at 96kpbs

CBR is the best for compatibility, so I would probably use 64kbps CBR (mono) for speech.

Re: Problems with resampling WAVs

We have a customer that uses PowerPoint 97 for their presentations, There is a neat trick that allows you to use MP3s in PowerPoint 2007. You just need to add a RIFF header to the MP3. (This may only work with CBR MP3s - there the only ones I've tried) You can create MP3s with RIFF headers using C-...

Re: Audacity recording quality Poor after Windows 7 upgrade

Audacity does not allow me to do so (sliders move in the mixer toolbar but have no affect on microphone input). My Ion USB turntable does not have a gain control button. Sigma Tel High Definition Audio CODEC and USB Audio CODEC device drivers are up to date. What exactly are you recording? a microp...

Re: Doubling of Audio Tracks

Re: Muting / Unmuting

In Audacity 1.3.x there is an option to "collapse" tracks. This minimises the height of the tracks so that you can fit more in the window, but you can open them back up to normal with a single click below the track name. Audacity 1.3 is now very close to being released as a "stable&qu...

Re: Audacity freezes during Export to Nero AAC

Have your tried Exporting as AAC using FFMpeg? (directly from the Audacity Export options)?
I don't know if that will work - it depends on whether it is enabled in your version of FFMpeg, but if you've not tried it, give it a go.

Re: Feedbcak on recordings

My wife is converting our old vinyl, How? With a USB turntable? If so, go into Audacity Preferences from the Edit menu and check that the recording device is set to USB. For other potential issues with USB turntables see here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=15603&p=56203...
