Re: Live Recording 5,000 hours
That sounds like a much less scary solution Bill. If I recall correctly, the chap that was trying to do a 1500 hour recording ended up writing a script to do something along those lines. Apparently he went 12 hours on Audacity without any problem, but for various reasons it got more difficult after ...

Re: Audacity recording quality Poor after Windows 7 upgrade
USB turntables bypass the sound card when you are recording (the "sound card" is built into the turntable).
You need to be looking at the turntable drivers rather than your sound card drivers.

Re: Live Recording 5,000 hours
Theoretically you could use any. Windows would probably be the most stressful because you would want to stop all of the automatic "phone home to Uncle Bill", Windows Update, Windows needs to reboot, Installing updates, your computer is at risk, and all of the other background rubbish. If t...

Re: Pop/Click Noise when applying effects or trimming
1. Yes, there is just one pop. 2. The pop is at the very beginning of the track. 3. The pop is also heard on the exported file, no matter what computer or player it's played on. 4. If you zoom in very close, absolutely nothing shows up where the pop is! And, as I said, if I time-shift the file to t...

Re: File Export dialog box.
This is the "Audacity 1.2.x for Windows" part of the forum. Selecting the export format for MP3s is different on different versions. Please decide which version of Audacity you are using, on what operating system, and make a new post. (to prevent total confusion, this thread is now closed)...

Re: Which effect do I need to adjust?
If it's a boom or low pop type of sound then you can probably filter most of it out with the Equalizer, but from your description it sounds like the " plosives " have been so loud at to cause "clipping" distortion. The only really effective "filter" for clipping distort...

Yes it is certainly possible - in fact if you click on the "tutorials" link at the top of the page you will find this page: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... ate_tracks

Congratulations.
I'm book-marking this. Let us know if it keeps working without any side effects.

Re: Pop/Click Noise when applying effects or trimming
Regarding what 'stevethefiddle' wrote, I have followed your instructions, and although the original 3-second tone file started cleanly (no pops), once I split and moved the three sections and applied the fade-ins and fade-outs, there is now a pop when I hit the Play button. As you instructed, the f...
