Re: Overly Large Database on Windows

"Projects" are a "work in progress". When you have finished you will usually want your finished "product" which will be an audio file. Audacity Projects have the advantage that they can hold multiple tracks, envelope data, and so on, but they are usually huge and can't ...

Re: Linking Track Labels and Audio Track;

It is different than what I was doing. As I said, there are several ways that you can approach this. I was outlining how I would do it. I guess that you have done quite a lot of work on Lesson 4 and do not want to start again on it, so let's see if we can help you finish this one. Before you start ...

Re: Multiple Export

Bill - You are correct that there is a label spanning the entire track and that is what is causing the problem. Also, as you say, removing that label and placing a point label at the beginning should fix the problem. Alternatively, Moka could just remove the label and select "inclure l'audio av...

Re: Record 2 inputs with USB mic

Audacity will only record from one device at a time. You may be able to record from more than one USB microphone with other programs (note that I say "may" and not "will"). You do not have to record both parts at the same time. You could record one person, then stop, then record ...

Re: Linking Track Labels and Audio Track;

1. Time Track Ruler and the measurements used in it? The time track shows hours:minutes:seconds If you are zoomed in so that you can only see a few seconds it will show seconds as a decimal. For example "1.75" is 1.75 seconds. "1:30" is one minute and 30 seconds. "1:30:15&q...

Re: Audacity stops recording after few seconds

As a fix, I just made the recording it with my XP machine and Audacity. I hated having to go back to XP, but I really needed to get it done. I know what you mean. For recording, Microsoft did well with XP - very usable. Ubuntu can be something of a pain to get going, but works very well in the end....

Re: Opening large MP3 file

"MP3Split" http://mp3splt.sourceforge.net/mp3splt_page/home.php can handle MP3 files up to the limit that your operating system can handle (probably 2 or 4 GB on an XP machine). Note that it only works with MP3 files. Recently we had a user that swore his file was an MP3 - it was even call...

Re: long vertical line

You can also make "splits" in the track (Ctrl+I). These will move exactly with the audio, though there is no way of labelling them other than the ordinary labels.
