51 minutes 24 seconds? That will seriously dig deep into your RAM.royceballew wrote:The track I was working on is 51:24

It could be that you're compressing it too much with the MP3 encoding. Does it still sound muddy if you export as WAV?reamdactiy wrote:But what about the 'muddy' sound

Re: Audacity 1.3.9 crashes with effects>voice remove
You may have run out of RAM during the processing, causing Audacity to run extremely slowly while Windows shoves data across between RAM and the hard drive (when this happens, Audacity becomes so slow that it appears to have frozen, though given enough time (possibly days) it may eventually finish. ...

Re: Recording in one channel
Right now, the "mono" option even has an unpredictable behaviour, as it depends on the driver And therein lies the problem - there is simply no way that Audacity can provide support to directly interface with the audio hardware for hundreds of different sound cards on multiple operating s...

Re: Guitars - Line in or Mic?
With electric guitars the enormous advantage of mic'ing up an amp is that you get something close to the sound of the amplified guitar. For many electric guitar players the amp is very much a part of their instrument. For acoustic guitars, you will get the most natural sound by mic'ing up the guitar...

Re: Recording in one channel
I don´t think that this constellation is somewhat exotic. No, I don't think its particularly exotic either. If you want to record 1 mono track - set Audacity for 1 channel (mono) and just use input 1 on the sound card. Providing that the drivers support this, you should then get just the mono chann...

Re: Recorded sound are pitched up
OK, I see (hear) what you mean. The "pitch" is not actually any different, but the "tone" is very different - there is a marked lack of bass (it sounds thin and all treble). This is going to be a sound card set up issue. When you use "What U Here", the recording is not ...

Re: cross fading but mixing at same time
This is not a question about the forum. If you say which version of Audacity you are using and what operating system (Win XP, Vista, Mac, Linux...) we can move it to the right place.
If you are not using 1.3.9 or later you should upgrade. There's no easy way to do it on old versions of Audacity.
