That's correct. He was the acting release manager for Audacity 2.4.2, so the app's certificate is signed in his name.

This all sounds very strange. Is Audacity completely freezing?

Have you tried rebooting the computer?
Are you using any 3rd party security apps?

Audacity doesn't apply effects during the recoding process.

What is the version number of Audacity that you are using? (look in "Audacity menu > About Audacity")

Did you get Audacity 2.4.2 via the Audacity website ? (The download is served by our content delivery partner "FossHub"). If not, I'd suggest that you completely remove Audacity from your computer, run a full malware / virus check, then download and install Audacity from the above link. If...

I think that's a bit too specialist for a general purpose audio tool like Audacity.
I'd suggest that you look at specialist voice analysis software, such as Praat.

I don't have Audacity 2.1.3 to test, but the current Audacity 2.4.2 exports exactly the correct length when exporting as WAV 32 bit float.

Also, after loading file, "Rescan Audio Devices" greyed out. Where are you "loading" the file from? Is the file stored on your local hard drive? "Rescan Audio Devices" should not be greyed out unless Audacity is "busy" doing something. Does the import actuall...
