Re: User interface question
The problem is called "DC Offset". It should not happen when you are recording and if it does it indicates a problem with your sound card. Such problems are often due to faulty or badly designed hardware, though some users have reported that updating the sound card drivers may sometimes fi...

Re: P5 level bug in Preferences->Directories
I'm not sure that this is a "bug" as such - perhaps more of a vague or misleading dialogue. Either way, I think the behaviour has been the same for many years. When you click on the "Choose" button, the browser that pops up says "Choose a location to place the temporary dire...

Re: Problem with Sampling rate
It sounds like your sound card drivers do not support 48000, or at least not correctly. You could look for updates drivers.

See this topic for some suggestions - read the whole topic as some of the information at the beginning is out of date, but corrected later ...

Re: Auto Tunne Effects
I know that Audacity 1.3.7 and earlier did not do Antares AutoTune. I've not seen any reports of anyone trying on Audacity 1.3.9 - If you have AutoTune (or a demo) it may be worth trying. I seem to remember someone saying that Gsnap worked with Audacity (not certain - I'm a Linux user so have no nee...

Re: How Long is it?
The "longer" the setting the more precisely the filter will match the curve that you draw. Low settings can be useful for making a smooth curve filter with few control points (the actual filter curve is shown in green). High settings are useful if you need rapid changes in the filter curve...
