Re: Change Pitch missing

Change Pitch has not been taken out, at least not in the Audacity code. It is possible that your packaged version has left out some necessary dependencies. Have you got the "Change Tempo" effect?

Re: convert to a supported format

I use "SUPER" by erightsoft (it's free) to convert wma files to WAV. I can't guarantee that it works in Windows 7, but it works in Vista so it probably will. Note that it does not work for DRM protected files. DRM is designed to stop you making copies. I would strongly recommend that you u...

Have a go with Audacity 1.3.9 and see if that gives you the USB option. Note that it is essential that the USB device is plugged i...

Re: How do I overlap songs?

You don't need to. All tracks are automatically mixed into a single stereo file when you Export (or a mono file if all the tracks are centre panned mono track). Audacity does not "Save" audio files - the "Save" function creates "Audacity Projects". To make an audio file...

Re: Trouble making instrumental track...

Congratulations on getting that far. It sounds like you have done everything correctly and removed the "centre panned" vocals. The "ghost" voice that you are left with is probably "reverb" (echo's and reverberation of the voice - either from the room acoustics of where ...

Re: i seem to have found a glitch in audaity

Set Audacity to record at 32 bit (Edit > Preferences > Quality) Then record the whole thing a bit "too quiet" (set the recording level lower to allow more "headroom" for those loud bits). You can record at a fairly low level, then use the Amplify effect after you have finished re...

Re: i seem to have found a glitch in audaity

Hi Lenny, I understand now.
Are you using a USB turntable? or a normal one connected to the sound card input? or a normal turntable connected to the computer through a USB pre-amp? or something else?

Are you able to adjust the recording level at all?

Re: Error While Opening Device

Make sure that the turntable is plugged into the computer, powered on and recognised by Windows before you open Audacity. If that does not fix it straight away, check your settings as described in the second paragraph of this post: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=18018&p=6...
