Re: Can't download help file

1) When you extract the zip file it should produce a folder called "help" with a load of files in it. (if it just creates a load of files, then you need to put them in a folder and name the folder "help" (without quotes). 2) If you have a folder /usr/share/audacity/ then the &quo...

Re: Can't download help file

The easiest way to access the manual is on-line: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... =Main_Page

(also instructions for how too download it on the same page)

Re: loosing sound quality after 10 seconds of playback

I notice that you have posted in both the 1.2.x and the 1.3.x parts of the forum. If you are using 1.2.6 or earlier I would definitely recommend updating to the latest 1.3 version (then we can continue the conversation in the other thread).

Re: Talking Machine

If the data on your disk is being change by Chi energy, you have a faulty disk. Hard drives will store data bit perfect for years. It is relatively easy to test if the data on the disk is changing - you just need a program that can calculate "checksum" values. Audio data on the hard drive ...

Re: playback quality getting bad in 10 sec. (NEWBIEE)

I suspect the problem is with your sound card - the main issue is probably just a couple of settings, but if your sound card is built into the mother board then you will probably want to upgrade it in the near future. Your computer is certainly high enough spec. to work with Audacity. So let's look ...

Re: File/Project Naming & other newbie comments

The issue that Bill is referring to is quite a weird one. It seems that occasionally Audacity 1.3.9 will create a data fragment with silence in it, but it is not supposed to do that (silence is basically a whole load of "zero's"). This silent block is invalid and Audacity recognises that i...

Re: Help With Kam USBH100!!!!!!

As a guess I would say that if Vista does not recognise or support it then there is even less chance that it will be supported by Windows 7.
Have you tried contacting the manufacturer to see if any special drivers are required for Vista?

No I'm afraid not. If both change pitch and change tempo were missing I'd have a good guess, but with only Change Pitch missing I think you'll have to ask on the Ubuntu forum (unless anyone else has any ideas?)

Re: convert to a supported format

No, that is a different program. Downloading SUPER is a bit of a link jungle - you have to go from one download link to the next and eventually you get it. It's a pain in the neck, but it's worth the trouble - believe it or not there are even some tutorials on Google for how to download SUPER. This ...
