Re: Vocoder not cooperating
That's confusing - you can't do "Tracks -> Add New -> Audio Track" in Audacity 1.2 Tried it here on Audacity 1.3.10 and it 's working fine. Could you give more detail - version of Audacity (see "help > About Audacity") and all the settings at each step. Ideally, could you also up...

Re: Audacity to save as several FLAC/MP3 files...
No problem if these CDs are just as data backups or for playing on a computer. I presume that you are aware that for an audio CD that is compatible with most CD players you need to make an "audio CD" (different from a data CD).DjBR wrote:projects will be exported to FLAC and burned to CD.

Re: Not only listen to the songs but also recording voice
I use a Zoom H2 (cost was about £125 GBP). The sound quality is excellent. It's a lot bigger than the average MP3 player, but still very portable (fits easily into my jacket pocket). There are similar devices from other manufacturers.

Re: Fast playback after file recovery
I suspect that the recovered track may be set to the wrong "sample rate".
Try Clicking on the name of the track, and from the drop down menu select "Set Rate", then choose a smaller number than the one currently selected.

Re: lost recording
I would strongly recommend upgrading to the 1.3 version - Audacity 1.2 was invented back in the days of Win98.

How are you listening the the sound while you record? Headphones plugged into the computer?

Re: Cannot import AIFF in Karmic Koala, works fine in OSX
There is an e-mail address where you can send "formal" bug reports. See this page: http://audacityteam.org/contact/ The AIFF file I posted is fine here on Ubuntu Jaunty with both Audacity 1.3.10 cvs Nov 6th and Audacity 1.3.10 rc1. This would suggest that it is a problem with the Karmic bu...

Re: lost recording
If you're using Audacity 1.3.9 there is a good chance that it will automatically recover it when you restart Audacity.
If Audacity offers to delete orphaned files, say NO.
If that doesn't work or you are using Audacity 1.2, see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... shRecovery

Re: playback quality getting bad in 10 sec. (NEWBIEE)
1.2.6 v 1.3 issue I didn't realize that the forums were separate until after I posted. Not to worry, we can sort that out. I did download the 1.2.6 because I read the word (STABLE) being computer challenged I figured it would be safer. There's just been a long discussion about this on the developer...
