Re: Samson G track
We have different parts of the forum for Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x because what applies to one version does not necessarily apply to the other. Let us know which version of Audacity you have (Help menu > Audacity) and we'll move your post to the appropriate place and hopefully resolve the problem. A ...

You would probably be better to ask Nero support.

Re: Screen Editing Metadata in Audacity 1.3.10
On the rare occasions that I do use metadata, it is either from CDDB, or I use EasyTag (so I've ticked "other"). For CDDB, there's a lot of programs that use it and it seems to be pretty much the same (automatic) whatever the platform or application. You can't get much easier than "do...

Re: Exporting .wav or .aiff to CD
Got any scratches on them? After more than 80 years, of course they have, but they still play. And how about those 78's?? Finding players may be a bit tough? Yes they're 78's. Due to the enduring popularity of the format, both players and stylii are still available. I've not seen a 5 1/4" flop...

Re: "Zooming in" on distant sounds
I presume the method is similar to the "classic" zoom microphone - using phase shifting to produce partial cancellation of sounds from the sides - though the mathematics are probably somewhat more complex. You also see something similar on some dual diaphragm condenser microphones which ca...

Re: Files being deleted when exiting Audacity
Exactly which "temporary directory" are you saving the exported WAV file to?stepperdoc wrote:After recording a track I select export as .WAV and save the file to a temporary directory
(I presume that you mean the WAV file is being deleted?)

Re: "Zooming in" on distant sounds
I presume it works by increasing signals which appear equally in both channels (- and are therefore in the direction the stereo mic is pointing) and decreasing amplitude of signals which appear unequally and are therefore off to the side. Sort of, but not quite. Zoom microphones use a pair of cardi...

Re: Screen Editing Metadata in Audacity 1.3.10
Where's the option for "I don't use anything?" Virtually all of my recordings are in WAV format, and since very few programs support metadata in WAV files I very rarely never really bothered with it. There's a lot of incompatibilities in Metadata with some tags showing up in one program an...
