Re: Recording Time Tag
I mean a time tag with real time when the record is made and appearing when the file is edited or on playback. The tag would only appear if it is supported by the program that is playing the file. What program are you using? Does it support "time tags"? For use in Audacity it would seem r...

Re: Amplify sound when stepped away from mic
Our favourite tool for this kind of job is "Chris's dynamic compressor" http://pdf23ds.net/ software /dynamic- compressor/ -- Bill That's great but is there any help files? Chris has a full write-up on his web page, and there are brief instructions at the top of the plug-in interface when...

Re: Mono to Joint Stereo?
Ah, that makes sense now :D If it's not working at all then I don't think the problem is with mono and stereo tracks - "copy /b file1.mp3 +file2.mp3 + file3.mp3 new.mp3" should work with mono or stereo tracks. What it won't do is change the format, so all of the concatenated files will hav...

Re: Annoying export problem/staticky sound removal.
o there are drops and rises in the volume. Turn the compress ratio up to 1 and it will utterly crush the dynamics. If you need it even more crushed than that you will need to use a more brutal effect such as the "Leveller" (included in Audacity 1.3) I can't find anything on his blog page ...

Re: Stick UNDO to each track?
"Extensive DAW features via the Ardour Digital Audio Workstation" Yes. I found a reference to it on the Ardour web-site. Harrison are not only adding their name though, what they are selling is their DSP code (which is proprietary, closed source). Hopefully Ardour is benefiting fairly fro...

That's what I was thinking, though this looks interesting: http://www.harrisonconsoles.com/joomla/ ... &Itemid=42billw58 wrote:I'd probably just spring for Logic Express at $200.

Re: Mono to Joint Stereo?
Sorry, I still don't know what you mean. "I'm using a dos command line to batch merge a bunch of files" What sort of files? Mono MP3 files? What do you mean "merge"? You want to "mix" them so they play at the same time? You want to "append" them so that one pl...

Re: Stick UNDO to each track?
The more you describe it, the more I'm thinking that Audacity is not the right tool for the job. This is where I'd be reaching for a multi-track program with real-time effects such as Ardour. I presume that on Mac that would mean reaching for the credit card?
