Does it show up in the Windows Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices?
If you are using Vista you will probably have to enable it in the Control Panel.

Re: No sound
Some of the data is no longer on your computer, or at least, not in the same place as when you made the project.

Audacity "Cross-Fade In" effect makes a click
From working on an improved cross-fade effect (one that will actually do a cross-fade http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=19861 ) I realised that the problem pointed out by Bill of getting a click at the end also occurs with the "Cross-Fade In" that is included in Audaci...

Re: Can't save project after inserting new track
There is a bug in one version of Audacity 1.3.x that shows this kind of error if an empty or silent track exists in the project. I can't remember which version it is, but possibly the version that you are using. I believe the problem is fixed in the current "Nightly" version, so you might ...

Re: CD Sounds Fine on DVD Player, Not CD Player
As waxcylinder says. Brasero can make audio CDs but you have to tell it that you want an audio CD (same with most other CD burning programs). K3B is really nice, my favourite :) As you say, there's a lot of dependencies required to run K3B on Gnome, but I've put it on one of my Ubuntu computers just...

Re: track settings different mono and stereo
Sorry I don't understand the problem. Mute and solo buttons work fine here on both mono and stereo tracks.
Which version of Audacity are you using?
Can you give detailed steps for how I might reproduce the problem.

Re: Click Track modification
Thanks Bill, That's very similar to what I'm getting. It seems an inordinate overhead just to draw the progress bar and makes me wonder if it is worthwhile. What seems strange is that with the progress bar working, the CPU activity is lower than when the the progress bar is not enabled, which makes ...
