Set the mbox as the default recording and playback device.
In Audacity Preferences, set the recording and playback devices to Microsoft Sound Mapper.

Audacity can't do that.
Are you talking about streaming .wma or .wma file downloads?
For converting .wma files to .mp3 files you can use SUPER by erightsoft.

You may find the sound quality of the Blue Icicle is a bit better than the Lightsnake, but I wouldn't expect there to be a lot of difference. Also, it does not have a headphone socket so there will still be no way to hear yourself through headphones while recording. The Sure SM-7B is a nice micropho...

It may be worth looking for an updated sound card driver - this may fix the problem, but on the other hand it could be a hardware fault that can only be fixed by replacing the sound card (or using an external USB sound card).

When Audacity is set to "Microsoft Sound Mapper" it will record whatever your sound system is set up for. Use your system Sound Control (Mixer) application to configure your sound card. There is usually a loudspeaker icon near to the time/date, but if not you can configure it through the W...

In the Windows Control Panel, set it as the default device for audio recording and playback, then in Audacity select "Microsoft Sound Mapper" for Playback and Recording.
