Re: higher sampling rates?

Both my sound cards go to 200khz Really? Sound cards usually have a maximum sample rate up to 192kHz. Oh, but then we may be talking about different things. Even a low end sound card may accept digital data at 200kHz even though the sound card itself runs at a lower sample rate. Extra bits are just...

Re: higher sampling rates?

96kHz is the highest pre-set in Audacity though I believe it will currently go up to 200kHz. It is highly unlikely that your sound card will support sample rates as high as this.

Re: Filtering: removing specific frequencies

That's a pretty tight frequency band so a notch filter will probably be what you want.

Re: Help With Noise Removal In Classical Piano Piece

Also found it very difficult to produce a good result. The best I managed in Audacity was to use a low pass filter at 8kHz (virtually no piano sound present above 8kHz) then pre-amplify the noise sample by 10dB and use the smallest amount of noise removal that would produce a noticeable effect. Sett...

Re: ERROR: Could not find sinewave.raw in rawwaves

I haven't editted my posts. As I said in the first one I get the same error in Ubuntu x64 and i386, and Fedora x64. Ah yes, that's it - I thought I remembered you mentioning i386 but I couldn't see that in your first post... it's in your 2nd post :) The issue certainly looks like it is to do with N...

Re: smarter selecting

If you have a wheel-mouse, use Ctrl+wheel to zoom in/out You can then zoom out, make a rough selection, zoom in on one end and use SHIFT+mouse to adjust the selection, then zoom out again and in on the other end with Ctrl+wheel. The region within markers (Audacity 1.3.x) can be selected by clicking ...

Re: ERROR: Could not find sinewave.raw in rawwaves

Have you edited some of your previous posts? Some of the details look different to how I remember them.

Is this all on a 64bit system?
What OS are you currently using and which version of Audacity?
Are you able to build Audacity from the source code?

Re: NO SOUND OR PLAYBACK

First thing to do is check the stylus and check that all the packaging has been removed.
