Re: 1.3.10 default timer change to 1 hr is annoying
The developers are reluctant to add non-essential options to Preferences as there are already 15 "pages" of preferences and the number of options could easily expand out of control. I would guess that there are as many people that find 1 hour to be a useful default as there are people that...

Re: Not able to hear playback on any exported files
Download Audacity 1.3
Export as 16 bit WAV
That should play ok - let us know if it doesn't.

Re: Cross Platform Usage
as long as both versions of audacity are in the 1.3 branch, and i use the two "safest" options for import/export, you think it should work? i will give it a shot tonight and report back. Yes I think it should - I look forward to hearing if it does. it would be nice if is was not necessary...

You are asking about improving the sound of illegal pirate copies?jmcurtis wrote:The reason for this, I am guessing, is so that the owner of the music will force everyone else to buy it instead of just sharing his/her own with anyone.
I think the obvious answer would be to pay for the genuine article.

Re: 1.3.7 missing chunks of audio after recover project
why run out of ram? that should not happen. True. With 4GB of RAM you should be able to use Clipfix on sections much longer than a few seconds with no problem at all. This would suggest that the problem is something different entirely. For removing noise I use Gnome Wave Cleaner http://gwc.sourcefo...

Re: No Recording Device
I do not have a recording device as input - all I want to do at this time is simply record sreaming audio (not record from an external source). Recording streaming audio still requires that a recording device is selected. The recording device needs to be set as "Stereo Mix". On SoundBlast...

Re: Help with LAME MP3 Encoder Install
Please fix tihs problem Audacity team -- we shouldn't have to go through this workaround. Unfortunately the problem is not reproducible for any of the Audacity developers (and I can't reproduce the problem either if that means anything). Since Lame has been available as a Zip file download I have u...

Re: Help making spoken tracks match tempo!
Use Audacity 1.3 rather than 1.2 Find or make your beat track first then practice your words. Adding the words is similar to the method described in this tutorial: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Creating_a_simple_voice_and_music_Podcast_with_Audacity You will probably find it easiest t...

Re: Can't get mike to work properly beyond low crackly level
If you are using a conventional microphone (mini-jack plug into your computer sound card) then I suspect that the problem is the sound card. PCs are notorious for poor quality microphone inputs and this is one of the main reasons that many people use USB microphones. If you are using a conventional ...
