Re: Is there a Manual Mixdown in Audacity 1.2x
When I try to Export to WAV, Audacity 1.2x does a very crappy mix that sounds like a mono mix If you "Export as WAV" you should get exactly the same mix as when you play the song in Audacity. If this is not happening then something is wrong - perhaps you have changed the default "Unc...

Re: End of Downloads
Most likely you (or another user of the computer) has inadvertently changed the sound card settings.
See here for how to set up for recording sounds that are playing on your computer: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... e_computer

Re: hangs on stop of sound-activated recording
I've found something that may be the cause of the problem: (Linux) If Audacity is left open but without focus, its CPU use will rise slowly until all available the system CPU is consumed. This is a bug in wxGTK 2.8.10 (not previous versions) which will be fixed in wxGTK 2.8.11. For Package Maintaner...

Re: crash on start
Sorry, I don't know enough about this. (I don't even have libgio installed).
I'll see if I can find someone that knows more about this sort of thing.

Re: Live radio stream query - urgent advice needed
**** BUMP **** Patience is a virtue. The forum is "staffed" by volunteers, Audacity users like you that offer their experience to try and help other users. There are no paid staff in Audacity, it is entirely created ans supported by enthusiasts. There are also time zones, so while you are...

Re: Shortened WAV, still exports at original length
You're not being chastised, you're being teased by a self confessed curmudgeon ;) As for labelling the Audacity versions, I couldn't put it better myself, in fact that is almost exactly what I said in a recent discussion of the issue. Of course there are counter arguments but they're wrong ...

Re: Can Audacity edit background noise?
Have you heard of the Flip Mino? Not much - I've heard that it is good for YouTube and its specifications look very impressive. It's better quality than you'll get on a mobile phone, but don't expect to make a feature film with it. Apart form the Zoom (which has high quality stereo microphones buil...

Re: Really simpe tone control plug-in
OK, updated. Memory usage is down to about 50% of the previous version. I've tested it on a 1 hour long 32 bit 48kHz stereo recording - RAM use went up to 1.3GB and it took about 5 minutes. The RAM was freed after the plug-in completed. Accuracy of the Normalizing is also greatly improved. tonecontr...
