Re: Import using "Files of type: FFmpeg-compatible files" bu
it just doesn't make sense that you can force FFmpeg import with individual files, but when multiple are queued up for import, only the first uses FFmpeg. I'll enquire about that and see if it is actually intended or an oversight. The "change extension" workaround becomes dead easy if you...

Re: Select and replace
I'm not quite certain what you mean, but I think you are asking about the functionality described here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Proposal_Audio_Diff This is currently just a proposed feature, though a couple of developers have recently started working on it. I'm not aware of any other audio...

Switch off "Software Playthrough". See here for general advice about using Audacity on Vista: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS The current recommended version of Audacity for Vista is 1.3.11 which is available here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=...

Re: USB Interface
The USB interface must be connected to the computer and recognised by Windows before you start Audacity. Check in the Windows Control Panel that the USB interface is enabled as a recording input (see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS#Using_the_Control_Panel_to_selec...

Re: Import using "Files of type: FFmpeg-compatible files" bu
Strangely, on my machine, importing MP3s with Audacity's built-in importer is about 2x faster than using FFMpeg import. The behaviour is because Audacity defaults to native import when available as this is generally more reliable across different computer platforms. You can force Audacity to use FFM...

Re: recipients cant open email attachments.
You need to "Export" an MP3 file and send that by e-mail. The .AUP file is not an audio file - see here for an explanation: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/File_Management_Tips

Re: Select and replace
To select a region of a track, Click and hold the left mouse button down and drag the pointer across the track, then release the button.
To replace the selected region with silence, go to the Edit menu and choose "Silence Audio".

How are you monitoring the recording?
Is your Line6 using USB2 drivers? Are the drivers up to date?
Do you have any other USB devices attached?
