Re: Help Updating
I would suggest that you wait for a week or so as 1.3.11 is due to be released imminently. Audacity 1.3.x can open Audacity 1.2.x projects, but Audacity 1.2.x can not open projects that have been saved by 1.3.x I always worry when I hear of people asking about opening .AUP files. You are aware that ...

Re: How to get defaults to work right in export-multiple?
I'm testing it here on Ubuntu 9.04 with Audacity 1.3.11 and by right clicking on the exported MP3 and looking in the "audio" tab of "properties", the title, artist, album and comments show up correctly. Opening it in EasyTag reveals this information + Genre and track number. Drag...

Re: Installing a second device
Now, Audacity is not able to find neither the turntable nor the cassette. Did you follow the instructions in my last post? If you did, then the cassette will not be found because it is not connected. Did you check in the "Windows Control Panel" and ensure that your TT is selected as the d...

Re: Bug: Now i am just dissappointed
Phew! You were lucky ;) It is often a good plan to create a folder on your computer and Save your projects there - the .AUP and the data folder are then kept tidily together in the same folder. Remember to keep backups as you go. If you are recording, export a WAV (or uncompressed AIFF) copy asap. A...

Re: Bug: Now i am just dissappointed
i saved the cartoon in a .aup file the .AUP file is only one part of an Audacity project. It is the part that tells Audacity how to put all of the little bits of data (.AU files) together. Every project has an AUP file and a data folder. There may also be data that is required by the project elsewh...

Try speaking closer to the microphone and if necessary reduce the recording level.

Re: Recover unsaved audacity project
I spent like 18 hours straight without Exporting a back-up WAV file and it froze on me Oops. This stresses the importance of having reliable back-ups. An exported WAV file of your original recording makes an excellent backup. If Audacity does not automatically recovered the project when you restart...
