Re: 32 bit Float
32bit float is a rather complicated way of achieving extremely high precision calculations. There is an explanation here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_754-1985 have 4 minute audio file. Then I'll try to get the dB at some point of time let say at 0.25 min sec, what is its dB? For the "peak...

Re: Splitting an analog microphone signal
You could try it anyway. Radio Shack sells six inch long headphone splitter "Y" cables which would work. I wouldn't recommend it. As you say, there's DC voltage on the microphone sockets. Usually it's difficult to short the DC voltage to the microphone input because of the contact arrange...

If you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.11 there is no minimum length limit for the Equalizer.

Re: Recording Roland V-Drums in Audacity... Help!
If the V-Drum has a "line output" as well as a "headphone output" you should use the line output connection. When you plug into the computer select "Line". The exact set-up for Windows depend on which version of Windows. The set-up is basically the same as recording fro...

Re: Exporting MP3 fles in mono
"Exporting MP3 fles in mono" is much easier in Audacity 1.3.11 (as are many other things) and I'd suggest you upgrade to the latest 1.3.11 version. All you need to do in 1.3.11 is click on "Tracks menu > Stereo Track to Mono", then Export. The reason I'm doing all this is that I'...

Re: After Audacity editing
If you're using Audacity version 1.2.6 on Windows, then your other post is in the correct place. I don't use iTunes so I can't help with that but hopefully another user will be able to give advice in your other post. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=22545&p=68725#p68725 I'l...

Re: Can't make 1.3.11 under Ubuntu 9.10
It might require exactly version 1.10 of automake. Ubuntu usually provides earlier versions of automake because this is such a common problem (incompatibilities between different versions of automake). (I'm still on Ubuntu 9.04 and that has automake 1.10) I notice that "taglib" gets a few ...

Re: High pass filter or any other way for radio tone
But they're older versions. I cannot find FFT filter on 1.3.9 ver Effects menu > Equalization In Audacity 1.3.11, if you click on the button next to where it says "Select Curve" there is a preset called "am radio" which will go some way to creating a radio voice effect. I change...
