Re: export as mp3

The exact details depend on which version of Audacity you have, and which version of Windows, so you will need to let me know what those are. (For the Audacity version look in the "Help menu > About Audacity".) Can you find the "My Computer" icon (either on your desktop or in the...

Re: lame_enc.dll issue

Surely, if you uninstall Audacity, then the audacity.cfg file goes with all the rest of the application? No, and this is extremely common with other programs also. In most situations this is convenient. If you customise your "Preferences" a lot, then it would be a pain to have to go throu...

Re: noise while recording

Go to "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices" and tell me what all of your settings are. I suspect the problem is in there, but of course I can't look for myself, so you'll have to look for me :)

Re: Fade but not out

There is a tool called Auto Ducking, but that should be avoided as it produces pumping orchestration. If you're sitting in front of a script, you are a much better judge of mix and volume. I'd generally agree, but it depends on the effect that you're after. Auto-Duck is extensively used on commerci...

Re: Splitting an analog microphone signal

Are you any good at electronic DIY? If you're using two cheap USB microphone inputs, there's a fairly safe way tha...
