Re: USB device option not showing
what ur saying is that im using the wrong cord and option/expantion of my synth? It depends on what you are wanting to do. If you want to record a "sequence" of notes/sounds which the synth will play back, then you need a MIDI connection to the computer. A MIDI connection will allow the s...

Re: Crackling Noise When Recording
Ideas? Yes. The sound card is letting you down. That is not at all uncommon because it is one of the first corners that PC manufacturers cut. To be perfectly honest, an SM458 into a Tascam mixer/recorder is not A1, but it should be pretty decent, and you're not geting pretty decent, which leads to t...

I'm sure you're mistaken. Old LADSPA versions (2001) for Linux are available from here http://plugin.org.uk/releases/0.2.0/

Re: Wave form
I'm going to go against the flow. I'm not at all convinced that it is a hardware problem. Open it in 32bit and you will see that the "negative" part of the waveform is present. I don't see how hardware could have that much DC off-set without clipping at 0dB, so it looks to me much more lik...

Re: max. filesize?
I wouldn't have thought Windows would be able to play them but I've never tried. The machine would have to be using NTFS file system as FAT has a 4GB limit for any type of file.headphonica wrote:does that mean that windows can't play FLAC-files that are larger than 2GB?

Re: importing mp3
If i have an mp3 at 128kbs and i copy it again and again,, are you saying the quality will deteriorate after each copy? If you are exporting as MP3 each time, the yes. To avoid the compound deterioration, open the original mp3 file and export it as a 32bit WAV file (16 bit will probably be good eno...

Re: max. filesize?
Art! that's a good enough reason for me :D As far as I know Flac should be able to do over 8GB - or to be more precise, the FLAC format can support large files. The problem is that the Windows build of FLAC has a 2GB limit (or at least it did a couple of years ago and I've not heard that there's bee...

Re: recording wav
Just installed 1.3 on vista- as an experiment converted a cd track to wav file. Probably not. You have most likely converted it to an unsupported format. If you used Windows Media Player it is probably a WMA file, which Audacity does not support unless you also have FFMpeg installed. I'd go with ko...
