Re: Crash on Record
In Audacity 1.3.11, look in "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices". What settings do you have selected. What alternative settings are available. (we need to know All of these). In Windows Control Panel (I'm making some assumptions here as I don't have Windows XP Tablet), in the Sounds and Aud...

Re: Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift
12 semi-tones = 1 octave. 1 octave up = double speed 1 octave down = half speed Each semitone is equal to one twelfth of an octave. This is a ratio of 2^(1/12) (approximately 1.0594630943592952645618252949463 - thanks Wikipedia) 100% tempo increase = double speed -50% tempo decrease = half speed If ...

Re: a good idea?
Sounds like a good and generous idea. It would probably be helpful if you posted the link to the original question as that would help us to keep an overview of how this experiment is going, and would be particularly useful in cases where screenshots or attachments are involved. For example, to post ...

Re: max. filesize?
It was just a thought - I always think it's a good thing to give credit to open source, especially when it has provided a means to achieve something that would have been difficult, prohibitively expensive, or impossible to do without it. I notice that you have used ogg, flac, audacity, Linux and pos...

Re: Making a live acoustic sound professional
They've been around for a few years now, and it's not like they don't have the facilities/cash to make a professionally produced video - this is supposed to look and sound like an informal two girls sitting at home amateur video.

Re: max. filesize?
I'm OK with the links, but I'll not be downloading the 4GB file just yet because I'm a bit short on disk space. Nice artwork. There's not much room to put a credit for Audacity, but perhaps you could include one on your web site. This is not a requirement, but might be a nice idea - perhaps somethin...

Re: Crackling Noise When Recording
PCI and USB sound cards have both been around for a good while and are likely to be with us for a good while to come, so if you upgrade your sound card now and upgrade the computer later you can move the sound card to the new computer. USB devices are popular because they can be used with laptops, t...

Re: Wave form
My guess is that they used an MP3 encoder to encode a 32bit WAV file, but the encoder did not support 32bit files correctly and output this mess instead.
