Forget about cooling the capsule - it has virtually no effect until you get down to extremely low temperatures (much colder than a freezer) and then the extreme cold can start doing damage to things. Re: Equalizer curve advice
Try a high-pass filter set at "900Hz / 6dB per octave" Normalize to -1dB (minus 1) after applying the Eq. Setting the frequency at a higher value will make the sound more "thin and tinny". Setting the frequency at a lower value will increase the "warmth" of the sound, b...

I think that GSnap will work in Audacity 1.3.11
You will need to set Audacity preferences to rescan effects on next launch for the effect to be recognised.

Re: Refusal to burn........
lots of Youtube videos that really show how it can be used. There's some good video tutorials on YouTube, but I've also seen several that have serious inaccuracies or are putting forward bad/misinformed advice. The Audacity manual and the Audacity wiki are probably the closest there is to "def...

Re: File|Close shuts down software instead of project
but it's a pain to totally quit Audacity and restart the app again. Is it really that bad? On my machine closing Audacity and restarting takes about 5 seconds, which is about how long it takes me to decide what I'm going to do next. If I'm just making small edits to a lot of small files, rather tha...

It eventually got replaced, mostly for the benefit of other programs. With a low spec machine, it is more imp...
