Re: Missing menu items
"Show Clipping" is only available in Audacity 1.3.x There are also many other benefits to Audacity 1.3 and it is well worth the upgrade. Audacity 1.3.11 is the officially recommended version for several operating systems, and many of us long term users would recommend it for all operating ...

Re: Losing One Key Instrument in Recording
What are the ranges for mid range exactly? There isn't an "exact" answer. The middle of "mid range" is usually taken as being somewhere around 1kHz (1000Hz). Try generating a Sine tone at 1000Hz from the Generate menu at 1000Hz so that you can hear what this sounds like. (try th...

Re: mp3 quality degradation in WMM
It is related to settings in audaucity.... Hang on a second, I'm getting really confused here. You appear to be replying to my reply to jessysky20. Are you (chalbe2001) the same person as jessysky20 or is the question from jessysky20 irrelevant to our conversation? There is no point recording at 96...

Re: EDIT METADATA TAGS, CHANGE INFORMATION IN WAV FILES
The original WAV format does not support metadata. Recent variants of WAV have limited support for metadata, but there are relatively few programs that support this. Audacity does not support artwork. Due to the vast range and variations of metadata from one application to another, it is often best ...

Re: Recording streaming audio
Go into "Edit menu > Preferences > Quality" and try a different "Sample Rate". Try 44100Hz and 48000Hz and see if either of those work.

Re: bug or feature ? fade out fade in :?:
Fade Out starts at the original (unprocessed) volume level at the left end of the selection, and decreases to zero at the right end of the selection. If you generate a tone from the "Generate" menu and apply a fade-out to it, the result should look like this: firsttrack001.png Fade In is t...

Re: Background Noise when recording from USB Turntable (Pro-
There's been a post from a user of an ION turntable that has almost identical noise: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 26&t=24509
My current guess is that the turntable is faulty.

Re: HELP!!!
The only recordings that I've heard from ION turntables are the one that you have posted, and another that was posted recently on the forum - both had the same kind of noise - perhaps the noise is a limitation of the turntable. Correction - the other was from a "Pro-Ject Debut III USB Turntabl...
