Re: Default .VOX sample rate
could the information on the .VOX be wrong? It's possible but I would guess that it is a limitation (bug) in Audacity that is reading them incorrectly. 6000Hz is an unusual sample rate so if it is a bug it does not surprise me that we have not heard of this before. Audacity 1.2.6 is the end of the ...

Re: Issues Recording Mic via Pre-Amp
since I can now record without distortion and everything sounds clean on the PC, I could just leave the setup as-is and consider it fixed, but I still feel like there is more going on here that I don't understand. It is most likely a weird sound card driver issue. When you have the input set to &qu...

Re: adding to the program
Here's a screenshot of the Frequency Analysis window showing the spectrum of me saying "ss". sss.png The things to notice here are the pronounced peaks from around 3000Hz to 18000Hz and the smaller peaks around 300 - 1200 and a bit below 2000Hz. Here's the Equalizer effect set to a similar...

Re: Recording streaming audio
mantonschool, the problem with adding your question to an existing topic is that we have no idea if you are using the same equipment or are trying to do the same thing as the writer of the original question. What operating system are you using and what are you trying to record? The computer is only ...

Re: Adjusting gain of audio track's
Once a track has been recorded too loud and distorts, that's it, there is a "Clip Fix" effect that may help a little but it is unlikely that there is anything that can be done to fully repair the damage. It is essential that you avoid recording too loud as it can't be fixed later.

Re: Problems with Cakewalk UA-1G and recording
Lets try this one bit at a time. Connect the UA-1G to your computer - nothing attached to the inputs or outputs, turn the recording volume up and open Audacity. Make a short test recording. You should get almost silence. Use the "Amplify" effect (Effects menu) in your recording. You should...
