Re: Blue Forum Header
If people click the big icon top left they'll see hover text that the main site has "documentation". I don't think that I'm particularly stupid, but it was months before I noticed that the logo was a link. IMHO, if it doesn't poke you in the eye no one will notice it. Links need to...

Automatic recovery does not always work, but it is a lot more likely to work than recovery in 1.2.xwaxcylinder wrote:in 1.3 the recovery tools are automatic on restarting Audacity after a crash.

Re: Average loudness and compression
I don't know how one would actually measure it Measuring it is a bit of a problem. One of the more simple ways to measure "loudness" is "RMS" - this is a kind of "average" level of the audio ( Root Mean Square ) This gives an indication of average power which is an app...

Re: Left speaker not working
You've tried running the RealTek speaker test and that just gives sound from one speaker? If so, check that the speakers are plugged in correctly - if that's not the problem then it is probably a faulty sound card.

Re: WMA to MP3
One of the disadvantages of Macs, if you can afford to buy the computer they expect you to pay top dollar for everything else.
Try "Switch" - I believe there is a Mac version available. Some features become unavailable in the free version when the trial period ends.

Re: Set/Change default save location in Windows 7
It's likely to be a lot quicker for you to do a restart and test it yourself than for me to try and get hold of Ed again and relay messagesbprc wrote:Edit: Sorry to trouble you, but could you ask 'Ed' if this save location is remembered after a restart? I'm sure it does but figured I'd ask. Thanks.

Re: Recording function can't hear
In the section Mixer Toolbar Issues in AWiki I read the following technical comment, which may be germane, but ALSA and OSS are unfamiliar concepts. Almost in the right place, but ALSA and OSS are to do with using a Linux operating system, not Windows. For recording sounds playing on your computer,...

Re: need help with equipment connections
Audacity is not a "real time" production tool. To make karaoke recordings with Audacity, you would either: 1) Import the audio track into Audacity, then record a second track with your vocals (this procedure is described here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Creating_a_simple_voice_and_m...

Re: Removing periodic clicking
It would be best to fix the problem at source.
I presume that there was no audible clicking (such as a clock) while you were recording?
Tell us about your recording - what operating system, version of Audacity, type of microphone, Audacity settings.....

Re: Where can I find Invert in Effect-menu?
I'm using the dutch version so I'm looking for the "inverteren' button. It appears that it has been missed out from the translation in the Dutch 1.2.6 version. The 1.2.6 version is virtually obsolete now so I doubt that anyone will be fixing that. Is it present in the Dutch installation of Aud...
