Re: Noise gate effect problem

On Windows Vista / Windows 7, the quickest way to access the mixer is to right-click over the speaker icon in the System Tray > Recording Devices. Or click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound (if you're using "Classic View" there's a direct link to "Sound" in the C...

Re: When I record the track is doubled!!!!

Export it as an MP3 file. You will need to install "Lame" in order to do that. See here: http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=inst ... m=lame-mp3

Re: Audacity with KX project drivers not recording

The Kx Project drivers are very flexible and high performance, but also rather complicated to set up. It's a while since I've used them (I'm now on Linux not Windows) but from what I remember, virtually all of the set-up is done through the Kx driver interface. In Audacity, just set the Recording an...

Re: very few effect available

No it's not currently possible. The built in effects are listed above the line, all plug-in effects are listed below the line. When the experimental "category view" of effects was enabled in Audacity, effects were organised according to the type of effect (provided that the effect containe...

Re: How do I record sound from YouTube?

Line in and Microphone were the only recording possibilities, even after trying to uncover hidden ones If that is the case then no amount of twiddling with Audacity will make any difference. Audacity can only use features of the sound system that are there - if Stereo Mix does not exist, then Audac...

Re: Is exporting WAV files lossless?

the 1.3.11 crashes every now and then, it mainly happens when I have a 16 bit PCM file and when I zoom in on the very last bit , press on the 'go to end' button ( looking like >>| ) That sounds rather similar to bug number 9 (on Bugzilla http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9 ) A method...

Re: Error saving message

No-one is blaming Mac. I think we all agree that the error message is rubbish, so as you say, let's put the focus where it belongs and identify the problem. It's not just "oh Audacity is rubbish and messes up my files", there is a specific failure here which seems to change its spots depen...

Re: HELP FOR STABLE VERSION

This is a long running joke/argument/discussion.... The short version - the 1.2.6 version is no more stable than the 1.3.11 version, in fact on many machines the 1.3.11 version is considerably more stable than the 1.2.6 version. If you're nervous about trying it, don't uninstall 1.2.6 - both version...
