Re: Left speaker not working
RealTek test? Is that where it shows the guy in the chair and the music loops around. That's the one. Maybe open it up and look at the input jack directly for soldered R/L/Ground connections? Certainly worth looking assuming that you are confident about doing so. I'd be very cautious about taking a...

Re: Input Monitor not working
Could you please give me the commands for formatting a disk The obligatory warning: You will be aware that you need to be very careful with this - reformatting will permanently delete everything. See here: http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-disk-format/ You can also do it with a graphical interface...

Re: Suggestions needed for how to Email MP3
MP3 is well over 20 years old True, but Lame continues to be actively developed and MP3s made using a modern version of Lame can be better quality than MP3s of the same size that were made 20 years ago. AAC can give you similar quality at nearly half the bitrates that MP3 can. Apple hype and not tr...

Re: Recording problem with fast track pro and Audacity
The screen shot shows that if I set the recording to fast track pro S/PDIF then I get a decent signal! This is weird becasue I have nothing plugged inot that input on the fast track pro... My inputs are in the Inserts 1 &2. That is weird. We've seen some pretty strange problems with Fast Track P...

Re: Recording problem with fast track pro and Audacity
Close Audacity, go into the Windows Control Panel and in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" section, set the default input and output to the Fast Track Pro device. Play something in Windows Media Player and check that the output is working. Open Microsoft Sound Recorder and check that the inpu...

Re: Suggestions needed for how to Email MP3
Any ideas of what I might be doing wrong? Absolutely nothing. MP3 compression is a trade-off between file size and sound quality. When you encode audio as MP3 there is a command that goes to the encoder (Lame) to tell it how much to compress it - this is defined by the number of kilobits per second...

Re: Problem : "Panning" and "Mix"
This is not the result expected ? Actually it is (though obviously not what you were expecting). If you "Mix and Render" one or more mono tracks and the "Pan" is off-centre in one or more tracks, the result will be a stereo track. Does that bit make sense? Now to the details: Th...

Re: Recording problem with fast track pro and Audacity
It looks like you have a bit of something recorded, though the level is very low. (the blue line in Audacity does not look completely flat, though it may just be the picture). Try selecting the track (or part of it - mouse click and drag) and apply the "Amplify" effect from the Effects men...
