Re: unsure if audacity will record teleseminar

To record sounds playing on your computer you should ideally set the default recording input to Stereo Mix by going to the Windows Control Panel and setting it there.

Re: muddied recording (streaming audio)

If you are using a laptop or any other computer that has a microphone, you are probably recording from the microphone instead of "Stereo Mix". To record sounds playing on your computer you should ideally set the default recording input to Stereo Mix by going to the Windows Control Panel an...

Re: Compressing WAV files?

For one of your backup copies you could use FLAC, or compress the WAVs with ZIP. Either of these options will allow you to get close to twice as much music per CD but they will not play in a standard audio CD player. Re: Input Monitor not working

"IT WORKS !!!!" Great stuff. I've never tried doing that myself, so I had my fingers crossed. "We didn't "solve" the problem, we just "fixed" it." Never mind - I guess we'll never know what the cause of the problem was, but at least "fixed" is better...

Re: sources for off topic/related topic/off the wall quesit

It could be useful, but (a) it could rapidly get so big as to be unusable (probably won't know without trying) (b) would anyone read it? (it could be made "sticky", and may be a useful resource to point to in replying to questions, much as we do with existing documentation). (c) who's goin...
