Re: Will this setup be okay & do i need to buy a soundcard?
How many contradicting answers do you want? USB Turntables: Many of the cheaper USB turntables are predominantly of lightweight plastic construction. The light "platter" is a problem as it doesn't have sufficient momentum to ensure rotation at constant speed and audible "wow" (pi...

Re: Download for Windows 7 ( beta)
I agree that the wording on the download page is a bit confusing. Go to: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows Where it says; " Recommended Download * Windows 2000/XP/Vista: Audacity 1.3.11 installer (.exe file, 10.9 MB)" That is the version that you need. Where it says: "See ...

Re: recording problem
remove itunes seems like the logical choice ? That would be logical - or at least shut it down fully so that it is not running in the background while you are using Audacity. uninstall audacity and reinstall it I don't think that uninstalling and reinstalling Audacity ever fixes anything. Sometimes...

Re: Weird Wave form question
Pretty much the same as Koz said - If you zoom in on the waveform you will see that the wave looks kind of square/rectangular. That's because the sound level is far too high for the microphone to handle and it is massively distorting. The funny wiggle just after the 17 second mark is where you tried...

Re: Generate tone series in Nyquist
a4 = 435 Hz Why are you using 435 Hz? A4 is usually 440 Hz. How would it be possible to create a series of tones from a string of text using a Nyquist plugin? David R Sky was working on a "sequencer" plug-in, but sadly he died before it was ever released. I don't think that it was quite c...

Re: Remove silence marker
I am not able to figure out how can I delete the silence and save the file which reduces the file size and I can make better podcasts. Check that you have Audacity 1.3.11 (or later) - "Help menu > About Audacity" Use "Analyze menu > Sound Finder" - this will mark regions where t...

Re: Is Audacity the best program for my application?
OK, I've checked. The packaging for my H2 specifies SD flash cards up to 2GB and 4GB SDHC flashcards. (there probably were not many flash cards around bigger than 4GB when I bought it). The official Zoom website specifies SD/SDHC cards up to 32 GB. There is also a list of cards that are confirmed to...

Re: Is Audacity the best program for my application?
The H2 may have a 2 GB limit - may be worth checking if you're thinking of buying one. (I've got two 2GB flash cards and that's plenty for me).
